Newcomb Spring Announces Growth and Expansion Including the Investment of More than $1 Million in New Equipment
Decatur, GA - September 9, 2010 - Decatur, GA-based Newcomb Spring Corporation today announced the Company has increased its production capacity with significant expansion throughout its nine locations. Newcomb manufactures custom springs, wire forms and metal components to the worldwide aerospace, agricultural, automotive, computer, medical, military, telecommunications industries and more. This expansion includes the addition of Wafios FMU1/FMU2 machines, new high-speed CNC coiling and strip-forming machinery, and new quality-control and part handling equipment. This additional machinery, along with ongoing equipment retro-fitting and upgrades, will allow Newcomb to increase the production volume of exceptionally accurate parts and prototypes, while improving manufacturing efficiency and increasing Newcomb's ability to quickly make real-time design changes, per engineers' requests.
